Millennium Foghorn © 1999 Henry Stopher, ℗ 2018 Millennium Foghorn Music
1. I hear you all talk / pretend you're so tough
Will you crumble or crack / when the going gets rough?
You think it's terrible now / it could be much worse
There's not much time / left to get out / from under this curse
2. The mental environment / shot through with hate and fear
It's so hard to take / so pretend you're not here
Until the curtain is drawn / you create your fate
Unless you let someone else / run your life / until it's too late
3. There's people talking to themselves / ignored and passed by
Insanity at all levels / under a dirty blue sky
Chemicals in everything / greed in control
Chameleon enemies / attack your body / not to mention your soul
4. Advantage is taken / and deception ensnares
Your mind's on the movies / your life vanishes into thin air
Call the darkness light / and famine a feast
Pretend you're all right / ignore the deafening howl /
of the Beast
* * *
5. And so as I'm painting / this portrait of hell
I remember where I'm from / as I bid you farewell
Life drowning in a whirlpool / deep trouble somehow
What can we do ? Only something totally unexpected /
can save us now
Save us now / Save us now /
Save us now / Save us now /

On Our Own

On Our Own © 1999 Henry Stopher, ℗ 2018 Millennium Foghorn Music
Will you come again? They say you said you would
Well, God knows when, or even if you should
They say that you went out walking on the sea
Are we all alone? Are we on our own?
Well, little sad-eyed boys and girls
Sweet and sour and sad old world
A single ship sailing on the starry sea
Are we all alone? Are we on our own?
[instrumental]
And some have faith, some have doubt
Some accept fate, some wait to find out
Some seek the truth, some know . . . wrong!
Some just sing for the sake of the song
I have paid my dues to the dark night of the soul
Are we all alone? Are we on our own?
God is real, but cannot be seen
Silence is the song God sings
The light pours out from the lighthouse by the sea
Are we all alone? Are we on our own?

We Have Been Gone

We Have Been Gone © 1999 Henry Stopher, ℗ 2018 Millennium Foghorn Music
1. The Khan made a levy, posted through the land:
Each man me give a night with his wife.
If of this a man do not think he can,
Give me then his son for a knife.
2. Green is the country in the early spring;
All through the land there runs a rage...
How does the Khan think summer will begin?
When his law and his fate come of age.
3. Me being sixteen, my heart was beyond rule--
A lot o' my friends felt the same.
What can you do when you are treated so cruel
And expected to be so tame?
4. The Khan is in hiding, the court it is in flight;
Half of our great city burned!
Shadows of strangers flicker through our night;
Some say dragons have returned.
5. [instrumental verse]
6. We have been gone, for long and many years,
Gathering these holes in our sack:
Pleasure and pride, laughter and fears--
Now we are coming back.

Prayers © 1999 Henry Stopher, ℗ 2018 Millennium Foghorn Music
You call yourself religious / I wonder what God calls you
Do you remember when you thought I was so outrageous--
and disgusting and vile?
You'd lock your door when you saw me on the street.
You didn't speak to me for quite a while.
In fact you washed your hands of the whole affair:
When I was poor and crazy,
homeless and lonely--
hungry and thirsty:
You didn't care.
You call yourself religious, I wonder what God calls you
Go climb your stairs
Go say your prayers
Hope that you're talking to someone who cares
Go climb your stairs
Go say your prayers
Hope that you're talking to someone who . . .

David

David © 1999 Henry Stopher, ℗ 2018 Millennium Foghorn Music
David was the youngest son of Jesse the Bethlehemite.
He was the one who guarded the sheep, by day and by night.
David's father said, "Go bring your brothers something to eat."
David came down from the mountain, in time to hear Goliath speak.
Goliath was a giant man of the Philistine camp;
He issued this challenge to Israel, "Send me out your champ."
David walked down to the creek, and picked out five smooth stones.
He said, "The Lord anointed me last week, so I know I'm not alone."
When he saw David walk out that day, on the battlefield,
Goliath said, "What have you done, Israel? You send a little boy to be killed."
David said, "I have killed the bears and the lions, while guarding my flock.
"You no problem to me, you big ol' giant, me and God, and my little rock."
David slung out his first stone, and hit Goliath in the head;
He ran over and, with Goliath's own sword, he killed that giant dead;
and he cut off his head.
[instrumental]
So take heed, my friends; be sure, never fear.
The Lord will help you fight a righteous fight, He'll always be near.

Over my Dead Body

Over my Dead Body © 1999 Henry Stopher, ℗ 2018 Millennium Foghorn Music
Grandfather fought, in World War II
He said we'll win, if it's the last thing I do
There is a war, I've got to go
Defend the home that I love so
BRIDGE
They'll take that hill over my dead body
They'll take that hill over my dead body
In Vietnam, we lost our youth
we lost our way, strayed from the truth
My father was a soldier, too
He said, "I'll fight for mom and you"
BRIDGE
They'll take that hill over my dead body
They'll take that hill over my dead body
[instrumental]
There is a war, it wants your son
Not even born, he's under the gun
If there's a war, someone will go
defend the land we all love so
BRIDGE
They'll take that hill over my dead body
They'll take that hill over my dead body
[instumental]
Stand tall and brag, you're patriotic
So wave your flag over my dead body
BRIDGE
They'll take that hill over my dead body
They'll take that hill over my dead body

BRIDGE INTRO
Where in the world can you find a friend?
How would it be if friendship would never end?
1.a. People Be Friends, be good to each other
People Be Friends, we can start right now
People Be Friends, of every color
Come on, people, don't we know how?
1.b. People Be Friends, give help to the needy
People Be Friends, give of yourself
People Be Friends, think! we can do it
Come on, people, let's give it a try
BRIDGE
Where in the world can you find a friend
How would it be if friendship would never end?
Sages of old say the world is in our mind
Then we can make a brighter world of every day
2.a. People Be Friends, in every country
People Be Friends, you know we are
People Be Friends, all over the world now
Come on, people, shine like a star
2.b. People Be Friends, roll down your window
People Be Friends, talk to me!
People Be Friends, make our lives easier
Come on, people, it's friends we must be
BRIDGE
Where in the world can you find a friend?
How would it be if friendship would never end?
Sages of old say the world is in our minds
Then we can make a brighter world of every day
I am your friend, you are my friend
You are my friend, I am your friend

Turn the Page © 1999 Henry Stopher, ℗ 2018 Millennium
Foghorn Music
1. Another day / has come into / this time frame
and each of us / gets something new / we call the same
but you, my love, / I thought you knew / we are a flame
2. Another day / we come and go / like chips on the sea
and though I know / somehow we're one / it's a mystery
as one by one / we lead our lives / like falling trees
BRIDGE
I thought we came to turn the page
The time was ripe for the new age
Life could not live inside a cage
where nothing is what it seems
now it seems it was a dream
* * *
It was a dream, they say it's through
It was a dream, dreams can come true
and we can make it happen yet
Millions of us who won't forget
We're not done yet, it ain't over yet
3. Another day / has come and gone / somewhat like the rest
and in your heart / I want you to know / that you are blessed
The setting sun / has filled the dawn / with emptiness
The setting sun / has filled the dawn / with emptiness

Disappearing Act

|

Disappearing Act © 1999 Henry Stopher, ℗ 2018 Millennium Foghorn Music
I hear the telephone / I'm sitting here alone
Don't want to talk / with even you
Nothing is very near
All my plans have failed / all my wishes, too
I didn't make a mark in life / I didn't have a clue
BRIDGE
They're singing in the street
and wishing all good cheer
Too stubborn to give in / too lucky to win
It's all too clear / my race is run
I don't know why I'm here
All my dreams were dreams / my life a silly game
There'll be no eulogy or epitaph
They'll just rub out my name
BRIDGE
They're singing in the street
and wishing all good cheer
They're singing to the king
while I disappear
