about

After a long exhausting day of travel and grief the gypsies have established their camp. This song takes place in an unknown wood around a campfire. A beautiful woman walks up with a violin and plays along with the fortuneteller as the singer pours out his heart in the dark night to his gypsy family and the silent haunted trees.

lyrics

Never B ©2002, 2011 Henry Wallace Stopher III

A van of gypsies rolling along the road
Before the dawn a rooster crowed

Mother begins to pray / God please show us how
We can follow Your way / Only You can save us now

A lonely tree by the river shore
A hasty grave, a sob, no more
Two eyes go burning down the night
Seeing those eyes that won't see light

I'll never be your love / . . .
I'll never be your love / . . .

I see the starlight in your eyes
I see the firelight burning bright
Somewhere, some night, some love will rise
It's not for me, no, not tonight

I'll never be your love / I'll never be your love
I'll never be your love /
I'll never . . . be . . . your . . . love . .. . . .
